In This Place is the story of a once happily married couple struggling to keep their relationship alive while they raise a child in a forsaken town of the rural South.

The two-character drama explores the complexities of modern marriage, motherhood, and rural America.

Jake and Muriel are distinctly millennial, trying to escape the burnout of modern life and decide whether to bring a child into the broken world. They take a chance on Jake’s hometown in the rural mountains of East Tennessee and soon are expecting a baby. But as Jake draws closer to his roots, Muriel becomes increasingly disenchanted with motherhood and the peculiar inhabitants of this place—the snake handler, the rumored murderer and drug-addicted kin—prompting them to examine their ideas of love.
